Coal Belt Conveying

In a completed coal processing flow, coal conveyor belt play the role of conveying and connecting, it connects various coal equipments in coal preparation plant, such as types of coal crushers, feeders, coal vibrating screen etc.


Mine belt conveyor mainly used in coal mine underground transportation and excavating system, also can be used as stationary transport equipment. The coal belt conveyor has the large traffic volume, long distance, less equipment failure and transport costs low etc those advantages, and it’s one of the main indispensable equipments in comprehensive coal mine and general coal mining.


According on the transmission process requirements, the coal conveyor belt can be used for single conveying or can also be level or leaning multi-machine transportation system to convey materials.

Coal Conveyor Transfer Points

Conveyor transfer points are sources of fugitive dust when dry coal containing the 3/8 × 0 inch increment is processed. If the material is larger than 3/8 inch or surface moisture content exceeds about nine percent, dust emissions do not occur. The enclosure usually has no access door, which may be removed or left open, thus short-circuiting the “pickup” air. Rubber seals or curtains also may be removed or damaged.


Airflow may be insufficient to gather the dust. The duct carrying the dust-laden air away may be blocked, broken, or poorly sized. A damper may be in the wrong position, or the chute leading from the coal conveyor pulley may be blocked, permitting spillage. The duct should carry the volume of air at a velocity of 4500 fpm. Proper conveying pressure may be unavailable because of malfunction or overloading of the collecting device at the duct terminal. Speeding or overloading of a conveyor may cause an emission upset at the terminal. Reference to earlier inspection reports will disclose any deviation from the normal flow of coal at a given point. Most of the malfunctions described above are readily handled by maintenance and replacement of damaged components.
